A Home for a Hero provides a home for a Military veteran looking for that long-term housing dream. The program accepts honorably veterans to apply. The program recognizes the need for safe and affordable housing for a veteran and family who have served their country and works to provide them with a home.
The Housing Finance Authority of Marion County was formed on June 3, 1980 to unite both public and private entities to serve all areas within the county, as authorized by Chapter 159 Part IV of Florida Statutes. Community Services staff works with lenders, contractors and realtors to help you buy an affordable home of your own. All applications are funded on a first qualified, first served basis as long as funding is available and will be reviewed by staff for eligibility. Funding is not guaranteed and is contingent upon final approval.
